As I sent last week, the next quarterly OGIC meeting will be:

June 19, 2013
10:30am - Noon
155 Cottage St., NE
Conference Room A

The meeting agenda and the notes from the March 2013 meeting are posted at http://www.oregon.gov/DAS/CIO/GEO/pages/ogic/ogic_meetings.aspx.

Also on that page, you'll find a link to the 2013-15 Framework proposals. A very important part of the June OGIC meeting will be to get final approval on those proposals. The OGIC Policy Advisory Committee, Technical Advisory Committee and Framework Implementation Team have reviewed all the proposals and agreed on the recommendations below in this message. At the meeting, we will summarize the proposals and ask for approval of the recommendations below.

Proposal name: SAFER Oregon FIT Proposal
PAC: Do not fund
FIT Leaders: Do not fund
GPL: Do not fund
Both FIT Leaders and GPL found this to be a worthy project and one that all would like to see put in place but each group also found it largely outside the scope of FIT criteria. FIT funding as traditionally not been used for training, travel, hardware, or software purchases, all of which are integral to this project. FIT Leaders noted that a rescoped project building upon previous work done by DOGAMI, with statewide extent and focusing on a core set of attributes might have been more appropriate for FIT funds. GPL observed that the State Fire Marshal Office has existing data that includes floor plans with extinguisher and exit locations and that a successful project might have built upon this existing effort.

Proposal name: Flood Hazard Proposal
PAC: Do fund with the following notes:

* Given the complexity of the project the involvement of a professional Project Manager is strongly recommended

* It is expected that the project will work closely with GEO to assure an optimum solution for hosting and storage
FIT Leaders: Do fund

Proposal name: The Emergency Preparedness Framework Data Project
