State ESRI User Group Workshop
When: June 3, 2014
Time: 8am - Noon
Where: OR Dept. of Forestry, 2600 State St., Salem - Tillamook Room.
Cost: FREE to State of Oregon Employees

What is it: A workshop from ESRI entitled Extend GIS to your mobile workforce with Collector for ArcGIS
Collector for ArcGIS is an application for collecting GIS data with an iOS or Android based mobile device.
(Details here: http://www.esri.com/software/arcgis/arcgisonline/apps/collector)
ESRI will be presenting a four-hour, hands-on, workshop that will introduce attendees to designing and deploying GIS datasets for use in Collector for ArcGIS and give them some real experience working with Collector in the field in both connected and disconnected environments.
Collector for ArcGIS is freely available from the respective platform app stores:
For iOS (Apple devices): https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/arcgis/id589674237
For Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.esri.arcgis.collector
Please note that some older devices do not support the newer operating systems that are necessary to support the disconnected editing functionality. The installation process will detect if this is an issue and will notify you that an older version of Collector will be installed instead.
Prerequisites:
1) Attendees must bring their own mobile device for the off-line data collection exercise.
2) Attendees must have a working knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop (vs. 10.0 or later).
3) Attendees must have an active ArcGIS Online user account. Please contact your agency GIS manager/leader for more information.
How to Register: Use the link below to sign up using a doodle poll. The workshop is capped at 40 participants and registration is limited to the first 40 participants who sign up using the doodle.
