Multnomah County is getting ready to launch our breastfeeding peer counseling program! We will have the job posting on the county website hopefully within the next couple of weeks. If you know someone who would be a good candidate, please let them know!

We are in the designing phases of the program, and we would love to collaborate with others and coordinate services. If you have any ideas, I'm open! 

I would particularly like to know more about different available lactation services so we can develop a good referral system for moms in need. I would also like to try to find a way to coordinate with hospitals, so we know when moms have their babies. We would love the peers to have frequent contact with the moms during those first couple of weeks, where so many moms start supplementing. 

Please let me know of any other gaps in services you see so we can work on the moms getting good comprehensive care to keep them from falling through the cracks.
