Hello AGRH,

Please share this save the date widely! As context, this training is based on a revised version of the Youth Action Research curriculum that has been used in Adolescent Health (and by various partners) over the past several years. Title: Becoming an Adult Ally and Building Change Agents through Facilitating a Youth Participatory Action Research Curriculum

Abstract: This interactive training prepares people who work with youth to become adult allies, and provides step-by-step instruction to implement a Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR) curriculum. The YPAR curriculum aims to engage youth in community-based action research, and become agents of change in their community.

Utilizing a social justice framework, this training will provide the adult ally the tools and processes to create meaningful youth-led partnerships. Participants will:

* Critically examine the role of bias and power when working with youth of color and/or marginalized youth.

* Receive step-by-step instruction on the implementation of the Youth Participatory Action (YPAR) curriculum.

* Gain hands-on experience with and access to a toolbox of learning activities that help youth develop skills to prepare them to critically understand social issues they are interested in and become change agents in their communities.

The training hopes to rejuvenate and restore the adult ally's commitment in collaboratively working with youth through the YPAR, and form an ongoing learning community that aspires to promote social justice.

Who should attend: Anyone who works with youth, or would like to learn more about meaningfully engaging youth in their work!
