There is one (1) opening for a permanent full-time Health Services Consultant 4 (HSC 4) within the Office of the Secretary - Center for Public Affairs at the Washington State Department of Health.

Primary Duties
This position will serve as the Health Services Consultant Specialist to the Center for Public Affairs Executive.  This position is the designated assistant for planning, policy development, designing, and implementing all aspects of the Center for Public Affairs.  The position will also serve as a health education and health promotion resource for the agency during the planning and implementation phases of the Center for Public Affairs.

Duties include:
* Responsible for project planning and implementation.
* Leads the process to develop tools for Center projects and other materials.

* Provides consultation and training on health promotion, health education, and health communication for the Center and agency staff.
* Researches current, effective program strategies and interventions.

* Determines, conducts, and analyzes audience research.

* Represents the Center in various meetings or conferences at the local, state or national level.
Required Qualifications
 NOTE:  Experience may have been gained concurrently.

* A Bachelor's degree or higher in Health Communication, Community Health, Health Promotion or a closely related field.

* Three (3) or more years (full-time equivalency) of experience in health promotion and project planning.

* One (1) or more years experience managing complex projects; experience must include two or more project team members.
* Demonstrated experience working on multi-disciplinary teams.

* Demonstrated experience applying quality improvement tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and overall quality.

Desired Qualifications
 NOTE:  Experience may have been gained concurrently.
* A Master's degree or higher in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration or closely allied field.

* One (1) or more years (full-time equivalency) of health promotion, project planning and quality improvement experience in a health services program.

* Demonstrated experience with communication and marketing.
* Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES).
