Please see the memo below (and attached) that was sent to Addictions and Mental Health Providers, Community Mental Health Programs, Mental Health Organizations and Addictions and Mental Health Stakeholders, from the Interim Director of the AMH agency.

Please share this stakeholder meeting schedule with your addictions and mental health partners in the community. Participation will be important so that success stories and potential barriers can be captured during these meetings.

RE:         Invitation to Tobacco Freedom Policy meetings

You are invited to attend a regional Tobacco Freedom Policy meeting hosted by the Addictions and Mental Health Division (AMH) of the Oregon Health Authority. During the month of August, we are bringing together our partners - consumers, residential providers, community members and other stakeholders - to discuss options for creating tobacco-free housing throughout the addictions and mental health continuum of care.

We value your input and encourage you to attend. Please see the attached schedule for dates, times and addresses for each of the four meeting locations to determine which will fit best with your schedule and location. The locations include Portland, Pendleton, Eugene and Medford.

The meetings will give us the opportunity to discuss challenges as well as successes related to implementation of the Tobacco Freedom policy. By holding these meetings, AMH is looking to our partners to offer solutions and ideas for implementation, help remove barriers and develop strategies for next steps. The goal is to collaborate on the best way to maintain the health, safety and well-being of the individuals receiving residential services while supporting them to become tobacco-free individuals
