We hope you’ll join a webinar Wednesday, Aug. 22, 9:30-11 a.m., and again on Thursday, Aug. 23, 1:30-3 p.m. to learn how you can use this program to amplify your work.
The webinar will include:
* Overview of the new logo and message frame, and how to use them in your work.
* Unveiling of tools including fact sheet, news release, PowerPoint, postcard and more.
* Best practices from Healthy Communities grantees already using the initiative.
* Discussion and Q&A about how to integrate the initiative into your work and how to access TA support.
If you have questions, please check with your liaison or me. Otherwise, we hope to see you on the call.
Thanks,
Jonathan Modie

A coordinated messaging initiative to build a movement across Oregon
Between September 2010 and June 2011, HPCDP, in response to requests from grantees, conducted extensive research to explore key audiences’ knowledge, attitudes and beliefs about creating healthier communities to form the base for a coordinated message and communications strategy. Backed by findings from this research, HPCDP developed a new message frame to serve as the foundation for its coordinated communications strategy. Its goal: Link and highlight work across the state to show healthy options are needed and expected; and create policies and systems that ensure all Oregonians have access to healthy options.
“Healthy Communities, Healthy People” is a research-based communications strategy to describe the value of our work; connect behaviors that cause chronic disease; engage and motivate policymakers and the public to change our communities; and build a movement that shows the breadth of the work and ongoing need. HPCDP built a strategy that includes coordinated messages, logos for use by all programs working to increase access to healthy options, and tools to help us tell the stories of the need and our work. We’ll share them with you during this webinar.
