The Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Section is fielding a skills assessment for its grantees. This skills assessment is included in the staff development section of the 2012-2013 funding agreements for both TPEP and Healthy Communities. This is the second time that HPCDP has requested grantee participation in this survey; the first time was in 2010. The results of the 2010 assessment provided valuable data for HPCDP's training and technical assistance planning.

This year, the skills assessment is even more relevant, both to HPCDP and to grantees. Results of individual assessments will be available to respondents. Staff can work one on one with their supervisors to design staff development and learning based on their own assessment results.

In addition, each Regional Support Network (RSN) will receive a report aggregating member assessment results. This report will help RSNs to identify common learning needs, and select in person training topics for the 2012-2013 grant year. HPCDP will use the aggregate results to identify content for required training webinars, regional swings and in person meetings.

The Grantee Capacity Advisory Group have reviewed the assessment tool, and their suggested changes are incorporated into the tool that HPCDP is using this year. Please respond to this assessment by Friday, July 20, 2012. Your participation in this assessment helps assure that HPCDP's training and technical assistance is as relevant and topical to your learning and work plan needs as possible.
