[HealthyTribes] Quit Line Service Updates

Hello All,

Two new Quit Line services were launched last quarter - this email provides a brief overview of each.  My apologies for cancelling the June optional webinar that would have provided this update.  Please contact me directly if you have any questions about these new services or would like additional information.

1) Spanish-language online counseling program

The Oregon Tobacco Quit Line now provides online counseling services in Spanish!  The Spanish-language online counseling program is very similar to the English online counseling program launched last summer -- participants have 12 months of access to the program, which includes self-directed learning modules, an interactive quit planning tool, and the ability to email or live chat with a Quit Coach.  Online program participants can also order two weeks' of nicotine replacement therapy (patch or gum) if they are eligible (e.g., over 18, no medical contraindications).

The Spanish-language online counseling program can be accessed online at www.quitnow.net/oregonsp/<http://www.quitnow.net/oregonsp/>.  Participants calling either the English or Spanish phone numbers can choose to enroll in the online program, and fax-referred participants will also be offered a choice of telephone or online programs.

2) Expanded Chronic Disease Resources

New content that addresses different long-term health conditions, including asthma, arthritis, cancer, chronic pain, COPD, chronic heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and stroke, have been added to the online counseling program.  Online program participants who indicate they have one or more of these chronic conditions during registration will be shown the appropriate content on their customized homepage.  Several screenshots are attached.
