Please share the following information with your partners and contacts. We encourage all to join us for this year's place matters.
The Oregon Public Health Division's Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Section invites all Oregon Health Authority employees to the 2012 Place Matters conference, "Working together to create healthy communities."
Place Matters is an opportunity to join others from the Pacific Northwest in sharing ideas, learning from experts in the field, celebrating successes, and identifying opportunities to partner and collaborate on the best ways to make our communities healthy for everyone.
The meeting offers many plenary and breakout sessions focused on creating environments that support being tobacco free, healthy eating, active living and people taking care of themselves where we live, work, play, and learn. Professionals from throughout Oregon and across the nation will share their experiences and wisdom in promoting health, and creating communities and neighborhoods that offer the opportunity for everyone to be healthy.
In addition to numerous experts featured during breakout sessions, the four plenary speakers include Dr. Eduardo Sanchez<http://srph.tamhsc.edu/office-of-the-dean/sanchez.html> from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas; Dr. Anthony Iton<http://tcenews.calendow.org/pr/tce/tony-iton-bio.aspx> from the California Endowment; Dr. Kurt Ribisl<http://www.sph.unc.edu/?option=com_profiles&Itemid=1874&profileAction=ProfDetail&pid=706269233> from University of North Carolina; and Dr. Tony Kuo<http://people.healthsciences.ucla.edu/institution/personnel?personnel_id=9857> from Los Angeles County Office of Senior Health. A full agenda for the meeting is available at healthoregon.org/hcc; register by clicking on the "register now" link, and look at the summary and agenda tabs to learn more about the meeting.
