Hi everyone,
I have some exciting announcements to make about some staffing changes here in HPCDP. You've recently heard about the additions of Beth Sanders as our Cessation Coordinator, Holly Heiberg and Kati Moseley leading our strategic communications and me, Sabrina Freewynn, serving as the interim Community Program's Team Lead. We have some additional new staff in our office and two of our finest moving on to work in other parts of the Public Health Division.
* Leah Fisher, who was serving in a temporary position, will now be a permanent Community Programs Liaison and the Asthma Program Coordinator. Leah began at HPCDP as a temporary Community Programs Liaison in August of 2013. She comes to us with a BS from Cal Poly State University and a background in community planning and public participation. She has also recently received her MPH from Portland State University and looks forward to continuing to support the great work being done across the state to promote health and prevent chronic disease through policy, systems, and environmental change. Those of you who have been working with Leah as your liaison will continue to work with her long term.
* Jenica Palmer-Phillips began at HPCDP in February as our Training and Technical Assistance Specialist. She has been working with all of you on your grantee communications and trainings as well as supporting technical assistance related to tobacco cessation. Now she will serve as a Community Programs Liaison and the Cancer Programs Coordinator. Jenica received her MPH and BS from Portland State University, and brings with her experience in program evaluation, advocacy and international relief efforts. Jenica has a strong background in community health and is looking forward to assisting all of you in your efforts to promote health in your communities.
* Danna Drum will be moving into a job rotation as the Accreditation and Performance Management Program Manager. Over the summer she will be working with the Accreditation and Performance Management Team to complete the preparation of documentation to be submitted to the Public Health Accreditation Board as part of PHD's accreditation application process. This is effective July 1st.
* Kirsten Aird will be taking Danna's spot in a job rotation as the Chronic Disease Programs Manager as of July 1st. Kirsten will manage the grants and major initiatives Danna was responsible for, and supervise the chronic disease programs staff.
* Cathryn Cushing will be moving to work at the Center for Prevention and Health Promotion level as a policy specialist. She will join Molly Emmons as a Policy Specialist for the Center - building systems and strategies for policy analysis, development and implementation at the Center level. This change is effective August 1st.
We are excited about the new expertise in our section and the opportunity to share our well trained staff with other departments in the Oregon Health Authority. Remember that your liaison is your first point of contact for all questions. We'll get you to the right person to meet your needs.
Thanks,
Sabrina
