Greetings,

I am pleased to inform you that we will be welcoming Tamara Burkovskaia as our new Arthritis Coordinator/Community Program Liaison beginning Monday, January 6th.

Tamara has been with Public Health Division for over five years.  She started as Executive Assistant to Mel Kohn when he was Administrator for the Office of Disease Prevention and Epidemiology. Two years ago, Tamara was assigned to the Office of Public Health Director and has been providing administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director since then.  Prior to her work at PHD, Tamara lived in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan where she worked at the U.S. Embassy for 16 years. You should ask her who she met, it is pretty cool!

Tamara will be a liaison to grantees but has not yet taken on this role. We're trying not to overwhelm her yet - that will happen soon enough. If you previously worked with April as your liaison, please continue to contact the liaison you have been working with since April's departure.

In Tamara's free time she enjoys walking (rain or shine), reading, and playing with her 18 month grandson. Please welcome her to our HPCDP section!
