Here are details about Walk With Ease:

The Arthritis Foundation Walk with Ease program is an evidence-based, community physical activity and self-management program. Trained leaders teach participants how to safely make physical activity part of their everyday life. Walk with Ease was specifically developed for adults with arthritis or other chronic health conditions but throughout Oregon it is being implemented in worksites, schools, and community centers with healthy adults. The program can help anyone get started in a physical activity program. The only pre-requisite is the participant's ability to be on their feet for at least 10 minutes without pain.

Participant materials are available in Spanish, and now available in a self-directed version where participants walk independently, without a group.

Oregon State University Extension, with support from the Oregon Health Authority, is providing free training, materials, and technical assistance to get this program out to communities throughout Oregon. Our goal is to get people walking safely and comfortably!
