Oregonians with disabilities use tobacco more than Oregonians without disabilities. People with disabilities are just as likely to want to quit tobacco as people without disabilities. To address this, the Tobacco Education Project for People with Disabilities aims to reduce tobacco use among both Oregonians with disabilities and their service providers. This webinar, Supporting Oregonians with Disabilities to be Tobacco Free, provides an opportunity for disability service provider organizations and all other interested agencies to engage with the project.

Webinar participants will learn about: 1) tobacco related data for Oregonians with and without disabilities; 2) establishing or enhancing a tobacco free worksite/campus policy; 3) promoting insurance-based self management benefits to staff and clients; 4) becoming a referral organization to the Oregon Quit Line, Living Well with Chronic Conditions and other self management programs; and 5) promoting cessation messages throughout their organization.

The following groups are especially encouraged to participate:

• Area Agencies on Aging
• Behavioral health agencies
• Brokerage Executive Directors and Personal Agents
• Centers for Independent Living
• County developmental disability representatives
• Disability advocacy organizations
• Local public health departments
• Residential and vocational community based disability service providers
• Regional health equity coalitions
• Self management program delivery organizations
• Tribal health departments
