Hello Tribal TPEP Coordinators,
The information below will be sent out to Tribal Administrators via SB 770. We would appreciate your help in attending to this request by January 20. Please send responses to Sabrina.l.freewynn at state.or.us<mailto:Sabrina.l.freewynn at state.or.us>.
Thank you,
Sabrina
Dear tribal administrator,
Your attention needed by January 20.
The Tobacco Prevention and Education Program (TPEP) is preparing to release the RFP for next year's Tribal TPEP programs. Funding for each tribe is determined on a formula that was approved by SB 770. The formula provides each tribe a base funding of $32,500. The balance of available funds is then distributed based on tribal enrollment.
We have updated the tribal populations from those listed on the Oregon Blue Book site. As of 1.8.15, here are the enrollment populations of each tribe:
Tribe
Population
Burns Paiute
349
CLUSI
953
Coquille
963
Cow Creek
1536
Grand Ronde
5200
Klamath
3700
Siletz
4677
Umatilla
2893
Warm Springs
4306
While we start with the Oregon Blue Book, we look to each tribe to confirm this number according to your records. By January 20, please let us know if the above number accurately reflects your tribal enrollment or provide a more updated number. If we do not hear from you by January 20, we will assume this number is accurate and use it to determine the distribution of funds.
Please send your response to Sabrina.l.freewynn at state.or.us<mailto:Sabrina.l.freewynn at state.or.us>. I can also answer any questions you may have about this process.
Thank you for your time,
Sabrina
