HPCDP has updated some resources that may be of use to you.



Ø  The e-cigarette webpage<http://public.health.oregon.gov/PreventionWellness/TobaccoPrevention/SmokefreeWorkplaceLaw/Pages/e-cigarettes.aspx> has been revamped with new information and resources

Ø  An e-cigarette primer<http://public.health.oregon.gov/PreventionWellness/TobaccoPrevention/SmokefreeWorkplaceLaw/Documents/E-cigFactSheet.pdf> has been created for communicating the recently-passed state legislation (HB 2546), which incorporates e-cigarettes into existing tobacco laws, including the Oregon Indoor Clean Air Act (ICAA)

Ø  Oregon's Smokefree Workplace Law<https://public.health.oregon.gov/PreventionWellness/TobaccoPrevention/SmokefreeWorkplaceLaw/Pages/thelaw.aspx> webpage has been updated to reflect the changes from HB 2546



The most currently available estimates for youth e-cigarette use are located in a web table here<https://public.health.oregon.gov/DiseasesConditions/ChronicDisease/DataReports/Documents/datatables/ORAnnualOHT_Tobacco.pdf> (called "Electronic nicotine delivery products" in the table). This table depicts tobacco use behaviors for 8th and 11th grade students in Oregon and is captured through the Oregon Healthy Teens Survey, which is conducted every odd year.



I have received questions on the effective dates of HB 2546. The Oregon ICAA provisions do not go into effect until 1/1/2016. There are no exemptions for vape shops. Use of electronic cigarettes , including sampling purposes,  will be prohibited indoors and within 10 ft. of windows, doors, and ventilation intakes beginning January 1, 2016. The ban on the sale, purchase or use of electronic cigarettes for those under the age of 18 went into effect when the law was signed on May 27, 2015.
