Hello Tribal TPEP Programs,

Thank you for all you are doing right now to support your Tribal community's COVID 19 response. We hope this finds you and your families safe and healthy.

During this time, we've been directed to limit our program communication knowing many program personnel have been reassigned to efforts and organizations are dealing with many communications at this unprecedented time. You will see limited listserv emails and requests for information. However, we are able to respond and connect with any program questions or inquires, so please do reach out as needed.

Last week, OHA-PHD sent out initial guidance to Tribal Health Directors covering program requirements and funding allowances related to all program elements through June 30th, 2020 (letter attached). The expectations consider statutory requirements as well as compliance with the Governor's Executive Orders related to social distancing. OHA has tried to the greatest extent to limit expectations related to PEs to those that are critical to public health and safety.

For Tribal TPEP (PE 16), completion of planned activities and deliverables are not required through at least June 30, 2020. Program plan and budget revisions will be due July 31, 2020 (subject to change, given current conditions). Additional guidance pertaining to recommended work strategy and activity prioritization will be provided to Tribes by April 30, 2020.

Many people in our communities are also likely considering how they can quit commercial tobacco right now given the fear and concerns around this disease. We are here to help support your Native Quit Line<https://smokefreeoregon.com/native-quit-line/> promotional campaigns. Thank you for all your efforts to promote the new service, as well as guide community members toward in-person cessation services offered through your Tribal health programs!

We also want you all to be aware of the launch of Smokefree Oregon's new youth and community-focused "We See/They See" tobacco prevention media campaign scheduled to run April 21st through July 19th. Since commercial tobacco users face additional risks related to COVID 19, this prevention campaign is both important and timely. If you have capacity during this busy time, we invite you to watch a recorded presentation that has been added to the TPEP Portal<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__smokefreeoregon.com_login_&d=DwMFaQ&c=7gilq_oJKU2hnacFUWFTuYqjMQ111TRstgx6WoATdXo&r=N39dt00JVCugEsD1jieWdqD8gHBDFm8wJn4ujdY2ysJ7l67Yk4PfB-2cEhkFbBwF&m=tuFywpoa1MjJGFOIpdnhpb4MS0l2YWhK0IOGjGRZXEw&s=pRCSHqmiEDC8XaP7-kvFogMYfRD26j-Pppk-LD0Nt1w&e=> (filter by "Communications Campaign" type and it will be the first item to appear). Click here to watch it right now!<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__youtu.be_vfmd0T8xPzg&d=DwMFaQ&c=7gilq_oJKU2hnacFUWFTuYqjMQ111TRstgx6WoATdXo&r=N39dt00JVCugEsD1jieWdqD8gHBDFm8wJn4ujdY2ysJ7l67Yk4PfB-2cEhkFbBwF&m=tuFywpoa1MjJGFOIpdnhpb4MS0l2YWhK0IOGjGRZXEw&s=w1pxccgrcEUenoLcMuWgcNvV62znTXV5Swn6sEoCFeo&e=> The presentation provides background on how this new engagement-focused campaign was developed; a sneak peek of the new ads and where they will run; a snapshot of additional OHA campaign activities; and an overview of materials and tools developed for grantees, to leverage the campaign locally and bolster your strong community prevention work!
We appreciate all you are doing to make sure our Tribal communities throughout Oregon stay safe and receive the critical services and care they need. Please reach out with any questions or requests for support.

Thank you,
