Dear Tribal Tobacco Prevention Coordinators,
We are now accepting applications for an optional training opportunity for community teams, the Community Policy Leadership Institute (CPLI). HPCDP worked with representatives from 5 Regional Health Equity Coalitions to develop the Community Policy Leadership Institutes, a model for centering equity in local, regional and state policy and decision-making processes. The purpose of the CPLI is to bring together community leaders, local public health authorities and decision makers through a facilitated process to co-lead local policy initiatives primarily focused on reducing and preventing tobacco and alcohol use to address health disparities and achieve better health outcomes. For more information about the purpose and goals of the CPLI, please see the attached One Pager.
If you are interested in participating in the CPLI, please complete the attached Community Interest Form and return to Leah Festa by email Leah.Festa2 at dhsoha.state.or.us<mailto:Leah.Festa2 at dhsoha.state.or.us>. The application period for the first cohort closes August 27th. There will be 4 teams that will have the opportunity to attend the first cohort. The first cohort will be launching remotely in late September. If you have applied previously you do not have to resubmit an application, but please email Leah.Festa2 at dhsoha.state.or.us<mailto:Leah.Festa2 at dhsoha.state.or.us> to let us know you are still interested.
If you are interested in participating in CPLI at a later cohort, you are welcome to complete the interest form at this time indicating your team's availability, or can wait to apply.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions or if you would like assistance filling out the Community Interest Form.
Thanks!
Leah
