Deadline Extension: Tribal TPEP budgets are due January 31 (Attached)
The Tribal Tobacco Prevention Program Element 16 was approved at the November Tribal Health Director's Meeting. We appreciate everyone's support and guidance with the process, and we are very excited about the expanded funding and work to reduce commercial tobacco inequities in Tribal communities.
At the November meeting, Tribal Health Directors also reviewed draft budget guidance and provided feedback which has been incorporated. We are now ready for Tribal Tobacco Prevention programs to submit annual program budgets. The budget timeframe is July 1, 2021 - June 30, 2022, and should total the annual amount of $405,000/organization. Budgets are due on Tuesday, January 18th. Please feel free to use the budget template attached or your own form.

NEW: TRL Updates and Reminders
Translated Tobacco Retail License Fact Sheets and Frequently Asked Questions documents are now available on the retailer section of Oregon Health Authority's tobacco retail license website<https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/PREVENTIONWELLNESS/TOBACCOPREVENTION/Pages/retailers.aspx>! In addition to being a web resource, they can be printed as leave behinds for retailers. Languages are English, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Arabic, and Vietnamese. Thanks for your patience with these materials as our contractor translated and vetted them with community partners. Please let Sarah Wylie or your community program liaison know if you or your partners find any issues with the translations.
Tobacco Retail Licensure went into effect on January 1, 2022. As we enter this education period, remember that there are resources available to support in your local outreach and education efforts. Connect with your liaison or emily.droge at dhsoha.state.or.us<mailto:emily.droge at dhsoha.state.or.us> if you have any questions about these materials or would like a thought partner as you move forward with this work.
