'POLITICS OF SAND' EXHIBIT TO OPEN AT CANNON BEACH
A "Politics of Sand" exhibit that showcases various artifacts associated with the Oregon Beach Bill (1967) and Bob Straub's Measure 6 campaign (1968) will open Feb. 14 at the Cannon Beach History Center and Museum. A screening of the documentary video of the same name will take place at 7 .m. Feb. 21 at the History Center.
Tom Olsen Jr. created the video and exhibit. His efforts were assisted by a grant from the Oregon Council for the Humanities that facilitated the oral history component of the project, allowing each of 25 individual interviews, including over 14 hours of unedited, raw material, to be transcribed and put onto DVD.
The History Center is open from 1-5 p.m. Wednesday-Monday, and is located at the corner of Spruce & Sunset Streets in Cannon Beach. For more information, call 503-436-9301 or visit www.cbhistory.org
