For what it's worth,

We researched this and somewhere came upon a product called *ORVUS* WA
PASTE.  It's a Proctor and Gamble product.  Not for home use.  They
actually list a use as "washing livestock" on the container, among other
uses.  Which is probably why we bought it at Coastal Farm and Ranch, I
believe.  It worked great.  And the stones have not disappeared, as of
today anyway.
