We used soap, water, & scrub brushes. Orvus is a gentle soap for livestock. I've found that dawn or ivory dish soap works and its cheaper & found at most any store. Goodluck!

For what it's worth,
We researched this and somewhere came upon a product called ORVUS WA PASTE.  It's a Proctor and Gamble product.  Not for home use.  They actually list a use as "washing livestock" on the container, among other uses.  Which is probably why we bought it at Coastal Farm and Ranch, I believe.  It worked great.  And the stones have not disappeared, as of today anyway.
