Objectives
Attendees will be able to:
· Define stigma and begin understanding three different stigma types from the receiver perspective.
· Connect definition of stigma and its types and begin to explore how stigma manifests in real world situations.
· Recognize how with situational awareness of stigma, the ways it can impact the healthcare system.
· Identify what actions can be taken to reduce stigma.

Ray Harris has worked in HIV and STI prevention, treatment, navigation, and health education for nearly ten years. From sexual health screenings to producing Emerald City Black Pride, Ray has made strides to contribute to the unity, and health and wellness of ALL living in Washington state. Currently as the Stigma Reduction Consultant, he provides input, strategies, programs, and processes to address stigma reduction in healthcare among consumers and to those apart
of the workforce.
Ray hopes to help forge new ideas that can invoke more understanding and acceptance, affecting heavily stigmatized health concerns.
