The University of Washington Supporting Harm Reduction Programs (SHaRP) team is holding a community meeting on June 6th and 7th in Chicago to develop good data collection practices that help make programs better, without being a burden to SSP staff or participants.

The University of Washington Supporting Harm Reduction Programs (SHaRP) team is holding this community meeting on June 6th and 7th in Chicago to develop good data collection practices that help make programs better, without being a burden to SSP staff or participants.  The team hopes to acknowledge a diversity of successful approaches while also engaging in an inclusive process to develop agreed-upon good practices for SSP data collection.

This in-person convening is for individuals engaged in harm reduction services and representatives of organizations that provide harm reduction services, as well as a limited number of harm reduction researchers, government representatives, and funders. Attendees will contribute their perspective on data collection within SSPs, develop recommendations, and work towards agreement about recommended standard SSP indicators. These indicators will be used as guidance but will not be mandated or enforced at SSPs. We welcome attendees with various life experiences and roles in harm reduction, and ask that they bring specific interest in and experience with data collection at SSPs.

Selected participants will have their travel paid for and are eligible to receive an optional stipend.
