The Medical Monitoring Project (MMP) CDC grant ended on May 31st. We expected that the CDC would issue a new award by the end of May, but this did not occur. In the absence of any formal communication from the CDC, we must assume a new award will not be forthcoming. We expect the project to be demobilized by the end of June.

The Oregon Health Authority, HIV/STD/TB Section has been administering MMP since 2007. This supplementary surveillance project gave Oregon providers valuable information to plan, develop, and implement services. Through MMP, we have been able to better understand how people living with HIV are doing clinically, behaviorally, and socially. Using this data, we have examined a wide variety of factors by geographic area and patient characteristics and were able to adjust HIV care and prevention services, as needed, to ensure equitable access to health care and other supportive services for all Oregonians living with HIV.

We hope that you can help us spread the word about this funding opportunity to your networks.
