ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Oregon Health Authority AmeriCorps VISTA Partnership Project aims to alleviate, prevent, and reduce poverty by engaging public health professionals in a year of full-time service in major public health organizations to create or expand public health systems capacity. The project reduces poverty in our communities by building sustainable public health programs and systems that ensure access to care, community resiliency and improved health outcomes.

AmeriCorps VISTA members serve full-time, forty hours per week in a capacity building role in statewide organizations, local public health departments, Tribal governments, or non-profits across the state of Oregon. Our members serve in areas of community partnership development, system and program standardization and expansion, volunteer recruitment and training, fundraising, communications and marketing, quality improvement, disability resources, and more. Work is done in an indirect service and capacity building role in a professional office setting and there are many opportunities for training and professional development.

CHALLENGING AND REWARDING NATIONAL SERVICE

Our team members lead anti-poverty public health initiatives in their agencies and communities. The decision to join national service for one year is a full-time commitment and one that will most certainly change your life in a positive way!

Our team serves in the areas of community wellness programs, post-incarceration re-entry programs, disability resources, emergency response, public health department accreditation, quality improvement processes, substance-use-disorder prevention, and more. We are a statewide sponsoring organization.

Announcing the launch of the HealthHIV State of HIV Care™ Eighth Annual National Survey, an assessment of the current landscape of HIV prevention, care, and treatment. The survey is now open for your participation!

For years, this survey has captured the perspectives of HIV care providers—including clinicians and service providers—to better understand the evolving challenges impacting and opportunities shaping HIV care.

In 2026, we expanded the survey to include the voices of people with HIV, as well as former, prospective, and current users of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). By bringing together insights from both providers and communities directly impacted by HIV, the survey will capture a more complete view of today’s environment and its implications for care.

This brief survey is an opportunity to share your thoughts on the state of HIV care, prevention, and treatment today, including experiences, successes, and challenges. Scan the QR code or click the button below to participate in the survey. Selecting the group you most identify with on the landing page will bring you to the version of the survey that is right for you.

What Topics Does the Survey Cover?

The survey covers a variety of topics of special significance to the HIV prevention and care workforce, people with HIV, and those considering or currently using PrEP, such as:
· HIV care, prevention, and treatment
· Readiness and uptake of long-acting injectable PrEP
· Wraparound services
· Reproductive health offerings
· Burnout, retention challenges, and support needs
· Medicaid changes and insurance challenges
· Preferred learning formats and priority clinical topics
· Trends in testing, linkage, retention, and viral suppression
· Barriers to care such as stigma, housing, insurance restrictions, and provider shortages
· Engagement with priority groups including older adults, transgender individuals, and people experiencing homelessness

The survey is anonymous. Findings will inform policy, community advocacy, and future training offerings. Results will be disseminated through a report, as well as peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
