Hello! I just received the email below. It sounds like ALA's Association for Library Services to Children has a great line-up of 5 online courses starting in February. This Fall I took an online class offered by YALSA and found Moodle (ALA's online wiki for class readings, discussions, and posting assignments) easy to use. If you haven't contributed to a wiki before, but have experience with blogs and email you should pick it up fairly easily too. The asynchronous nature of the class allowed me to do assignments whenever worked best with my schedule. I particularly enjoyed learning from different types of librarians across the country taking the course.

Perhaps one of these topics is of interest to you:
Connecting with Tween Readers
Information Literacy-From Preschool to High School
The Newbery Medal: Past, Present and Future
Reading Instruction and Children's Books
Series Programming for Elementary School Age.
The cost is:
ALSC Personal Member: $95
ALA Personal Member: $145
Nonmember: $165
