Tom,

The CQI is the same as the "improvement plan." They want to know that
you have a plan at your facility to do continuous quality improvement
throughout your organization. This was a big gap for us as we did not
have a CQI program before or during the beta-test but I'm happy to say
that we now have one!

My understanding is there are 3 core elements required that have to be
in place in order to apply for accreditation - assessment, strategic
plan, and improvement plan.  

 

I have also heard talk about continuous quality improvement.  Is that a
4th area or embedded in one or more of the core 3?
