Hillsboro Public Library is happy to announce the launch of our FT Collection Development Librarian - World Languages & Outreach Collections recruitment. Collection areas for this position include the Spanish collection, World Language collections, and outreach collections. Closing date is 11:59 pm, Sunday, July 18, 2024.

The Team:
Our section of the Access team includes eight staff members and their supervisor, working closely together on managing the physical collection-from selection to processing. We value camaraderie, open communication, and fun in our shared workspace, surrounded by a variety of materials.

What You'll Do:

  *   Select new and replacement library materials for assigned collections according to the library's Collection Development policy.
  *   Evaluate, select, and purchase materials in various formats for all ages.
  *   Review and evaluate patron and staff purchase requests.
  *   Analyze existing collections, community trends, and ILS data to identify needs and improve collection performance.
  *   Foster positive relationships with third-party vendors.
  *   Maintain proficiency with vendor websites, Polaris ILS, Tableau, Microsoft applications, and Slack.
  *   Track and manage materials budget expenditures.
  *   Answer collection development questions from staff, Board members, and the community.
  *   Collaborate closely with colleagues in the Access and Outreach Teams, Data Analyst, and Volunteer Coordinator.
