EXCEL/G-Sheets - Print Titles and Headers on Every Page

Have you ever printed out a spreadsheet that has multiple pages, yet the Title row (the column names) shows up only on the first sheet? Without this type of information on the additional pages, it’s hard to keep track of your spreadsheet information.



For spreadsheet-lingo clarification within a spreadsheet, the letters at the top of the column (A, B, C…) and the numbers (1, 2, 3…) in front of the row are called "Headers."



And the labels or names that we type in to describe the column or row are called "Titles" in spreadsheet lingo.



For example, you may have a three-page Excel report that you want to provide to your team members. If you print it without the Title row on every page, your colleagues will have to keep referring back to the first page to figure out what the information on pages two and three represent.



However, if you know where you can tell Excel to print the Titles on each page, your problem is solved!



Alternatively, you can print the "Headers" (just the column letters and row numbers).



Print Titles on Each Page in Excel


As a way to easily remember where this function is located in Excel, think of printing headers on every page as part of your Page Layout and Setup. Then it will become intuitive each time you need to do this.

·    With your spreadsheet open, select Page Layout Tab, go to the Page Setup section, and click on the Print Titles button.


·    A Page Setup window will open.


·    Select the Sheet tab and to the right of the Rows to repeat at top field, click on the tiny arrow in the lower right corner of the window.

·    This returns you to your spreadsheet and gives you another box at the top of your screen that says Page Setup – rows to repeat at top.


·    Click on the number (found on the left margin) of the row you want to repeat in the spreadsheet.


·    A dancing line will appear around the row you selected and the cell's code will appear into the box.


·    In the Page Setup – Rows to repeat at top box, click on the down arrow again and you will return to the full Page Setup box.


·    Click OK to complete the process.



NOTE: You can follow the same instructions if you would like the title ROW(s) to repeat (in other words the text you have in the first column to show up on each page) click on the box for "Columns to repeat at left".



When you scroll through your spreadsheet on the computer, you won't see the repeating header ROWS (unless you've also used Freeze Panes … see that tip here<https://opiayfbab.cc.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=00137BNGymgBofHOqBa0QsNsi212ODJ_Ar0gappmAxzWmTiSMOdJ05IrMnP0b6BmWb6io4KPTu8f1lPzc_JijoJrZJii7R_9fOfcdrLAKDwDp6ZlPMbAa95TI55x6p6moZ9Jusdmkt60v2PqG34LSmGueux1RSfRLupljhtEK2Lk_6Tv7rbrHBVXQ==&c=_156of-9dv6_Yh4P2d5GScJLq5V8Hc1X9j3LRLPAOYLZSJRltUKKvg==&ch=9DOGhvC7msdQqNSIv5DBePWfeRMW9eosZFWLwo5VkvLDgL9UcnRrbQ==>), but they will be there on your printed version.



Print Headers in Your Excel Spreadsheet



If you want to print the Headers (A, B, C... across the top, or 1, 2, 3... in the rows to the left):


·    With your spreadsheet open, select the Page Layout Tab, go to the Sheet Options section.


·    Simply check the Print box under Headings.

Now when you print the spreadsheet the Header letters and numbers will be displayed:

Print Titles on Each Page ... in Excel 365 WEB



Printing titles or row headers isn't possible in Excel ONLINE. However, there is a workaround.



If you can create the spreadsheet in the desktop version and set the titles (and headings) to print, when you upload it to your online account they will appear.



Print Titles on Each Page in Google Sheets



To make sure your TITLE row (text) is visible on each Google Sheet when printed:


·    First, select the View tab at the top of the window, click Freeze from the drop-down menu and select 1 row.

·    Then, to print, go to File and select Print.


·    In the right column, go to the Headers & footers section.


·    Check the Repeat frozen rows option.


·    Click the Next button, and Print.



NOTE: You are currently not able to print the HEADER Row (the numbers and column letters) at this time.

Communication

How committed are you?



Recently I read, "Commitment is the foundation of all great accomplishments." Well that seems obvious, so what do we do with that idea?



If commitment is a dedication, or a pledge, to consistently pursue a goal, how can we increase it?



Tony Robbins offered a solution with an interesting thought. He suggests that, "If you want to take the island, burn the boat." In other words, you can't have one foot in and one foot out ... a fallback where you can change your mind.



If you truly want to succeed you have to make a commitment and go all in. Persevere through challenges to reach meaningful goals. Burn the boat so you have no choice but to move forward.
