Thanks to all who voted in the LibTech RT elections. The new officers (2013-14 ) are as follows:

Chair
Brent Mills
Position: Technical Support Specialist
Sage Library System/Hood River (based out of)

Brent currently works under Systems Manager Beth Longwell. I've enjoyed working at the intersection of technology and traditional library systems since I started working at the Hood River Public Library. I interact with a variety of systems both proprietary and open-source, including the ILS, operating systems and backend databases. I also answer a variety of tech questions on our consortium's support ticket system related to library technology for our member institutions.

Vice-Chair/Chair Elect
Darci Hanning
Technology Development Consultant
Oregon State Library (Library Development Services)

For the past year I have served as secretary for LibTechRT and would like to continue to serve in a leadership role. I believe that OLA members and LibTechRT in particular have a significant role to play in the library community as we continue to promote what libraries and technology in libraries have to offer our patrons. I hope to grow our fledging roundtable during the next year to bring in new members and pursue new projects.

Secretary

Elsa Loftis, Librarian at Everest College, Portland

My first volunteer experience in a library was as a "Techno Host" at the Multnomah County Library, and it was there that I began to see the value of technology in the library for our patrons. During graduate school, some of my favorite projects were creating online study guides and contributing to a more robust online presence at the libraries I worked for (Brooklyn Public Library, and the Pratt Institute Library). After graduating in 2009, I began volunteering for L-Net, doing chat reference, and I currently sit on their advisory board. As the librarian at Everest College, I have tried to get creative with technology to meet our students' educational needs. Evolving library technology unlocks library resources for a new kind of patron in a new environment, and it's very exciting to learn about and participate in this evolution.

The slate of officers will be sent out on June 3, and voting will take place in a 2 week window starting June 17th. Officers will be announced in early July.
