Darkness to Light Training presented by OAASIS and the Children's Center





Child sexual abuse thrives in the shadows of secrecy, but each of us can illuminate the path to safety and healing.



On Sat, Oct 8th, OAASIS and the Children's Center are presenting a nationally-recognized training that teaches adults to recognize, skillfully respond, and prevent child sexual abuse. The evidence-informed training takes a conversational, real-world approach and includes video of survivor experiences, expert advice, and practical guidance to keep kids safe. Each attendee will receive a personal prevention plan workbook and prevention postcards to share with others.

Webinar Description: This webinar is designed for anyone working with children who have experienced trauma who wish to understand the experience, needs and options of immigrant children who have recently entered the United States fleeing violence in their homelands.  Presenters will explore the history of trauma for immigrant children, identify unique challenges and provide responsive solutions to addressing the needs of immigrant children.
After this training, participants will be able to:
*        Understand how the history and nature of the trauma immigrant children have experienced may inform your work with them
*        Recognize additional barriers they may need to overcome to successfully access your help
*        Identify ways you can implement what you've learned in your work with immigrant children

Children's Advocacy Center of Lincoln County Oregon is Hiring for an Executive Director
Seeking Executive Director (1.0 FTE) to manage a nationally accredited child abuse intervention center that provides assessment, advocacy, prevention and treatment services to victims of child abuse and their non-offending family members. Located in Newport, the heart of the beautiful central Oregon coast, the CACLC has developed a strong reputation based on delivering excellent programs and services to our most vulnerable population. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Strong management, budgetary and financial skills; and strong skills in grant writing and reporting are mandatory.  4 yrs. experience in interagency social service, medical, business, education or community networking and coordination; experience working directly with a Board of Directors and a multi-disciplinary team environment preferred; and any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position that are required. Juliette's House is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (PNP or FNP) or Medical Doctor (MD or DO) to join their team of Medical Examiners on a part-time (up to16 hours/week) basis.   Headquartered in McMinnville, OR, they are the sole organization in Yamhill County providing comprehensive child abuse assessment and intervention services.  Child Abuse Medical Examiners are responsible for providing medical evaluations of children suspected to be victims of abuse or neglect. This position utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to the evaluation of suspected child abuse, working in partnership with Forensic Interviewers, family support specialists, and community partners such as law enforcement and child protective services.
