It's that time of year again--OCFIT season!

[cid:image006.png at 01D67166.E406C4A0]A few very important changes to the OCFIT structure: We are excited to share that we are holding OCFIT online until December 2020 to reduce potential COVID exposure for staff, trainers, and participants. The online trainings will be held live, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-1:00 pm. They will not be recorded, and can only be accessed in the moment, similar to an in-person training session.

Our first OCFIT will be held Monday, September 21-Friday, September 25, 2020. This OCFIT will be open to CAC Forensic Interviewers only. We know several of you have hired new FI, and we want to be sure they have access to OCFIT as soon as possible. Future OCFIT dates for MDT members and community partners are TBA.

Applications are due by 11:59 pm on Friday, August 21, 2020. Please let me know now if you plan on hiring an FI before the training date and need me to reserve your staff a space.

In this webinar, our presenters will explore the myriad losses and grief associated with this ongoing pandemic. Recognizing the spectrum of loss for those of us who are victim services providers and those we serve, we will explore the range of losses, small to large. We will examine the disparities of impact across communities that affect both victims and providers. From the loss of routine and stability, to loss of home or job, to the death of loved ones, grief abounds. We will consider grief in all of its complexity as well as sustaining strategies to consider for yourself and your team.

To serve crime victims more effectively, victim service organizations must use fundamental financial management practices to stay solvent and operate properly.

In the Financial Management training, you will learn key bookkeeping and accounting principles, how to prepare financial documents, how to prevent fraud, and the differences in available financial management tools.
This training is designed for those who are new to their organization's financial management. It will be delivered online, over the course of 6 weeks, beginning on August 31, 2020. Each week, except for the introductory week, will include a facilitated webinar. There are recommended readings and videos as well as written assignments. You should expect to spend about an hour per week on these in addition to participating in the 75-minute webinar. CEUs will be awarded for those who complete all requirements.
