HHS Leaders Urge States to Maximize Efforts to Support Children's Mental Health
Building on Secretary Becerra's National Tour to Strengthen Mental Health, HRSA, CMS, SAMHSA, CDC, ACF, and ACL commit to working with states, tribes, and jurisdictions to best leverage federal resources.
The joint letter from leaders of ACF, CMS, HRSA, SAMHSA, CDC and ACL on children's mental health was released yesterday in conjunction with the roundtable. The letter to states, tribes, and jurisdictions encourages them to prioritize and maximize their efforts to strengthen children's mental health and well-being and outlines HHS' plans to support and facilitate coordination across federal funding streams to advance and expand mental health services for children.

Core Concepts for Team Facilitation: Course + Community
APPLY BY JUNE 1, 2022
MRCAC and WRCAC are pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for the next cohort of Core Concepts for Team Facilitation: Course + Community.

Through a combination of self-paced learning and peer discussion, this training introduces team facilitators to foundational frameworks and skills necessary to build psychologically safe, inclusive and thriving teams.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This training is open to MDT Facilitators, MDT Coordinators, or other MDT staff serving in an MDT leadership role (regardless of job title) in the western and midwest regions.
TRAINING DETAILS
Participants are asked to commit to attend six online sessions. Prior to each session, participants are expected to complete pre-work that consists of a self-paced, online course lesson (that should take no more than 30 minutes to complete). The total time commitment per month is estimated at 3-4 hours.

There is no cost to participate in the training.

Intersections of Secondary Traumatic Stress with Racism, Historic Trauma, and Other Systems of Oppression


This two-hour webinar will focus on how secondary traumatic stress (STS) intersects with issues related to identity and oppression. Participants will increase their understanding of how racial inequality, historical trauma and other systems of oppression can exacerbate the impact of STS on direct service providers.

The expert presenters will share their personal experiences and offer strategies for individuals, leaders and organizations to address these topics and increase resiliency in the workplace.

Collaborative Child Abuse Response Training

Overview
This training is a first-of-its-kind, statewide training for Oregon's multidisciplinary team members and fulfills statutorily mandated training requirements.
This training has a focus on field response and is appropriate for all members of the multidisciplinary team. Participants may include law enforcement, child protective service workers, school officials, medical professionals, mental health treatment providers, Children's Advocacy Center employees, juvenile department representatives and others (ORS 418.747). Training Details

*  Live, virtual on Zoom for Healthcare

*  June 22 and 23, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. both days, with lunch break

*  Participants must have their cameras on the whole time. Missing more than 30 minutes will disqualify a participant from receiving a Certificate of Completion.

*  Participants are expected to participate in program evaluation activities such as a pre- and post-test, daily evaluation, and follow-up survey.

*  Cost is $220
