CEUs are offered for law enforcement (DPSST- 16) and social workers (NASW - 14).

OVERVIEW
Collaborative Child Abuse Response (CCAR) is a statewide training for Oregon's MDT members early in their career or switching roles, and fulfills statutorily mandated training requirements. CCAR focuses on the field response to child abuse and will help you better understand the forensic interview process, best practices for field interviewing and gathering minimal facts, and how to work with children's advocacy centers (CAC).

Training Overview

This intensive 5-day training will help you understand forensic interviewing in Oregon and guide you in engaging with the Oregon Interviewing Guidelines. The Oregon Child Forensic Interview Training (OCFIT) is evidence-based, supported by up-to-date research, and approved by the National Children’s Alliance to meet all Forensic Interview Training Standards.

Monday, October 20 (1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Tuesday, October 21 (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Wednesday, October 22 (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Thursday, October 23  (8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.)

Friday, October 24 (8:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.)



Tuition

OCFIT tuition will not be due until after the application status notifications are released.

Once an applicant is conditionally accepted for the training, they will be required to pay the $350.00 ($358.18 when paid via card) tuition by Monday, October 6, to secure their spot.

OCAS will provide payment instructions with the conditional acceptance notification email.

Increasing Skill in Forensic Interviewing of Children (Sept 9)

Mastering the use of optimal questioning strategies and legally defensible social support requires additional training beyond an initial one-week class. This course deepens interviewers’ understanding of the why and how of effective questioning strategies and the provision of sensitive and targeted social support. Opportunities for practice are provided.
