Subject: Ongoing delivery delays

Dear Valued Customer,

Cardinal Health takes its responsibility to support the needs of our customers very seriously, as demonstrated through our history of service. Our goal is to help enable you to continue your focus on safe and effective care for your patients while protecting those involved in patient care.

Please be aware that we are experiencing delivery delays with our national and regional parcel providers and expect this to continue due to unprecedented levels of e-commerce activity. We are currently seeing a delivery delay of 1-2 days on average. Please know that we are working diligently to get product to you.

What we know:

  * Certain markets, including Detroit, Baltimore and the state of California, Oregon, and Washington, are experiencing longer delays. Based on current pressures in these markets, we do not expect delivery performance to recover until the end of January, at the earliest.
  * Wildfires in the western United States, including northern and southern California, have created additional issues for all parcel providers to meet on-time commitments as carriers are trying to navigate road closures and manage through package volumes that are now undeliverable.
  * COVID-19, potential additional government stimulus payments, Amazon Prime Day in October and the upcoming holiday season are expected to create additional challenges for the parcel networks across the country.
  * National providers FedEx and UPS as well as our regional providers including Ontrac are actively adding drivers, trucks and additional warehouse capacity to help manage the surge in volume.

What we are doing:

  * Working with our parcel providers daily to shift volume between providers and adjusting service levels within each provider to keep packages moving.
  * Working to balance and shift volumes between regional and national providers.
  * Collaborating with FedEx and regional providers to understand how our private fleet could potentially assist them with placing our packages closer to the delivery destinations.
  * Evaluating our couriers to supplement package deliveries.

You have our commitment to do all we can to help our global healthcare supply chain continue to operate as safely and effectively as possible. We will continue to closely monitor these delays and will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Thank you for your understanding and continued partnership.
