[MyOEBB] OEBB -- Information On Benefit Confirmation Statements

Dear Business Managers, Superintendents & Benefits Administrators:

NO ACTION NECESSARY - INFORMATION ONLY

Each year following Open Enrollment, OEBB sends a benefits statement to each member showing their enrollments for the current plan year. For the past two years, we have delivered this statement via email to those members who indicated they wanted to receive benefit information electronically. It has recently come to our attention that these emails did not meet our standards of protecting members' information and a small number of OEBB members may have been able to view information on another member's benefits statement. I wanted share this information with you.

We have been working with our systems and security experts and will be notifying the members potentially affected later today or early tomorrow. We will be sending the notifications via email to just over 36,000 OEBB members that received electronic benefit confirmation statements in October 2013 or October 2014.

Note that this only applies to members who selected the email preference in MyOEBB. This does not affect those members who selected to receive their benefit material via USPS or did not indicate a preference for receiving materials electronically.

We have taken steps to correct this problem and prevent it from happening again in the future. Protecting member information is very important to us.
