Hello, all,

The ODLC Governing Board had a super productive meeting yesterday. This slide deck<https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1bc45o348BxycTpnLfnDcAilA5XGCPVhQbrPx0fImkXI/edit?usp=sharing> includes the agenda items. Here are several updates to note.

1. We approved O'Brien Memorial Library's<https://www.obrienlibrary.org/> application for membership, and they will join ODLC on July 1.

2. We elected Executive Committee members for next year.

a. Chair - Kris Wiley, Director at Roseburg Public Library (filling a one-year, unexpired term)

b. Vice Chair/Chair-Elect - Kathy Street, Director at Oregon Trail Library District (term begins immediately to fill an unexpired term)

c. Secretary - Stephanie Chase, Executive Director at Libraries of Eastern Oregon

d. Selection Committee Chair - Jessica Otto, Adult Services & Digital Content Librarian at City of Newberg (filling a one-year, unexpired term)

e. At-Large Member - KT Austin, Member Services Librarian at LINCC Library Support Services

f. At-Large Member - Adrienne Alger, Senior Program Coordinator, Computer Services Team at Eugene Public Library

3. We met Holly Kabat, our new-ish OverDrive rep, who shared that Libby updates on the horizon include an easier path for deep filter searching and a streamlined way for patrons with multiple library cards to toggle between them.

4. We created a subcommittee of five members to investigate changing the consortium's holds/checkouts limits, which are 6 and 6. The group will provide a recommendation at this fall's Governing Board meeting.

5. We are weeding expired titles with no or very few holds. Cataloging Chair Kristynn Johnson<mailto:KJohnson at eugene-or.gov> is the contact for getting the MARC records.

6. More member libraries are offering magazines. From March 2023 to March 2024, there was an 8.2 percent increase in magazine checkouts.

7. We continue to see double-digit increases in new users, checkouts, and holds.

8. Tech issue from OverDrive: On April 15, 2024, devices running Android 7.1.0 and below will no longer be able to access Libby. On this date, our web certificate provider, Let's Encrypt<https://letsencrypt.org/2023/07/10/cross-sign-expiration>, will no longer support those Android versions. Older operating systems can't use the most current web certificates, which provide security while using apps and websites (including Libby). For the user to continue using the Libby app, they'll need to use a device with Android 7.1.1 (or higher). Unfortunately, the device you mentioned is running on Android 5 and no further updates are available to it due to its age. If they're unable to update their device's operating system, they can use a setup code<https://help.libbyapp.com/6070.htm> to copy their library cards, loans, holds, and tags to Libby or libbyapp.com<https://libbyapp.com/> on another compatible device<https://help.libbyapp.com/6105.htm>.
Don't hesitate to reach out if you have questions or concerns. Thanks!
