[OGIC] Email/Workday mistake RE: New Employee Onboarding

OGIC members,
You likely received an email this morning from Workday and/or the Dept. of Education about being a new employee and related training. (see below) This was a mistake and the Dept. of Education HR person sent it to ALL state employees in the Workday system. You were also signed up for training pertaining to this onboarding email. You can ignore this email and any training notifications. The State is working to roll all of that back and remove it from your Workday required training list.
We were all just as confused as you probably were in getting the email. Hopefully it will be resolved soon. 😊 But I wanted to let you know.

Subject: New Employee Onboarding (NEOn) Welcome
To:
Welcome to the Oregon Department of Education! As a new employee there is much to learn about our agency, the work we do, and our policies and procedures, so we’ve designed an onboarding experience for you that will help you rapidly gain the knowledge you need to be successful. Our New Employee Onboarding path is called NEOn. You’ll be able to identify any component of the path with that acronym.
If you are new to State service, there are two components to your onboarding journey: Department of Administrative Services (DAS) required training and ODE Training modules. If you are transferring from another agency, your journey will be the ODE Training modules only.
The DAS required training modules that are assigned to new State employees include:
* DAS – CHRO – Overview of Oregon State Government
* DAS – CHRO Public Records
* OGEC – Overview of Oregon Ethics Law
* DAS – CHRO Violence and Weapons Free Workplace
* DAS – CHRO Drug-free Workplace for Employees
* DAS – CHRO Preventing Discrimination and Harassment in the Workplace
* DAS – EIS – Information Security Training: Foundations Uplift Your Benefits
DAS courses have varied due dates. Look in your Workday learning app to see when a specific course is due.
ODE’s new employee training for OSD employees is contained in one program and includes required training from both DAS and ODE. The courses from ODE are:
* ODE - OSD - Oregon School For the Deaf - Employee Guide<https://360.articulate.com/review/content/73abc3e9-6a49-4f19-b318-5348a296c886/review> -This can be found in the OSD Managed Bookmarks
* ODE - HR - NEOn - Intro to Systems: An Overview<https://360.articulate.com/review/content/d12db0f4-0e25-4023-b578-c8db28ebbb59/review> - This can be found in the OSD Managed Bookmarks
* ODE - Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting
* ODE - HR - New Employee Orientation - (NEO) - highly recommended to attend. SEIU employees have a meeting with their rep at the end of the session
* Payroll time tracking modules - you only need to complete two of them DAS - PTT - Employee Eligibility Types and Why They Matter and the module that applies to your eligibility type.
* ODE – NEOn – Overview of Oregon Department of Education - highly recommended to learn more about ODE
You will have 30 days to complete the entire program. Please work with your manager to protect time on your schedule to complete all requirements by the due date.
If you’re new to state service, you’ll find assigned inbox tasks and required training by the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) in Workday. You should try to complete your inbox tasks in this first week.
