Just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for helping to make 2010 a successful year for Oregon Main Street. Whether you are just starting out at the "Exploring Downtown" level or taking steps to move your program to the next level as a "Performing Main Street" program, your efforts make a difference in your community and to our wonderful state. We continue to work on building a strong statewide program to help you with your efforts to strengthen and revitalize your traditional downtown business districts. It has been a particular joyful year for me to have the chance to be on the road to learn more about your issues and opportunities and to provide assistance. Some of the Oregon Main Street highlights for 2010 are:

-Welcoming 5 new Transforming Downtown level communities: Astoria, Canby, Cottage Grove, Springfield, and The Dalles; and 8 new Exploring Downtown level communities: Beaverton, Creswell, John Day, St. Helens, Stayton, Tillamook, Whiteaker Neighborhood (Eugene), and Woodburn.
-Providing three OMS Network meetings and trainings covering volunteer development, historic preservation (in partnership with the CLG program), and entrepreneur development) as well as a variety of on-site technical assistance from workplan development to fundraising training
-Began collecting revitalization statistics from our Performing Main Street level communities
-Implemented National Accreditation process with two communities, Baker City and Oregon City, receiving National Accreditation this year
-Expanded use of the list serve to include Exploring Downtown level communities
-Re-formatted Annual Conference and brought it back to a downtown venue
-Developed a new "Excellence in Downtown Revitalization" recognition program

Thank you once again - and all the best to you in the New Year!
Sheri
