Hello,

I have a request from the National Main Street Center to provide examples from any of our communities that are doing anything to tie into the Small Business Saturday promotion. They are looking for information on any proclamations, events (formal or informal), or any anecdotal stories about creative business promotions tied to the national campaign. They are working on a media alert to go out this week to highlight some of these activities. If you know of anything, please send me your story & I will send it to the Center.  Cheers, Sheri

Greetings Local Main Street Partners:

If you've been in movie theatres, online, or reading the papers over the weekend, you will likely have seen articles and ads for Small Business Saturday (SBS).  This campaign has really taken root, and we are seeing some really wonderful examples of how Main Streets and businesses have leveraged it locally including Mayoral proclamations (see example below from Lancaster, PA) and creative business promotions, such as one local Main Street business that is offering 27% off everything in their store on Nov. 27!

With national advertising and media coverage really heating-up, we would like to know about any Small Business Saturday proclamations or events, formal or informal, and any anecdotal stories you can provide about creative business promotions tied to the national campaign.

Please reply with any examples by tomorrow morning as we are working on a media alert to go out mid-week that will highlight some of these organic activities.
