[OMS_MANAGERS] OMS: Cash Mobs?

Good afternoon Oregon Main Street,

Recently there has been a lot of attention surrounding this idea of "cash mobbing" businesses.

The City of Canby will soon undergo a major redevelopment project in May that involves redeveloping 4 blocks of our downtown (undergrounding utilities, new sidewalks, new parking lot.) The majority of our downtown businesses are located on this street and many businesses are concerned with the construction disrupting their businesses. We are looking to coordinate these "cash mobs" as a way to support businesses affected by the construction, but I wanted to ask those of you who are familiar with this or have undergone cash mobbing in your own communities.

I am interested in finding out:


*         How did you coordinate this event?

*         Was this a success for businesses?

*         How well was this received by both the public and business owners?

*         Were there things you would have done differently?

*         Other resources I could look into for more information on "cash mobbing?"

*         Any other tips and tricks. :)
