I'll start by admitting that I am extremely prejudiced for Macs. 
Operating a Mac is more intuitive that PCs and for desktop publishing they cannot be beat!
I have personally owned 12 Macs and have nothing but Apple products in my office.  
The cost is a little higher than a PC, but, remember that you get what you pay for.  
I highly recommend and will never own any computer than a Mac!
