Just a reminder the due date for applications for the Elisabeth Walton Potter Oregon Heritage Preservation Scholarship is rapidly approaching. Some of our network members have received the scholarship in the past couple years to attend the National Main Streets conference. I believe there was also a group who received a scholarship to attend our own Oregon Main Street conference in Baker City last year due to the distance they traveled. See below for application information. There might be other preservation-related training you are interested in as well, such as the National Preservation Conference in Spokane in fall.

Would you like to attend a preservation-related conference, workshop, or training in the next year? The Oregon Heritage Preservation Scholarship provides financial assistance for Oregon residents to attend a preservation-related conference, workshop, or training in the United States between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013. Eligible travel expenses include registration fees, transportation, lodging and meals.

Scholarships will be offered to those actively involved in local preservation efforts and who demonstrate how attendance at a preservation-related conference, workshop, or training will help meet the preservation needs of their local community.

Scholarships are competitive and offered twice per year. The first round deadline is June 15.
