Hi Karla,
This is Thomas Gilbertson with the Salem Downtown Partnership. When it comes to downtown design related projects the Partnership does the following:
power washing sidewalks
putting up holiday decorations including trees, garlands, and others
hanging, watering, and fertilizing flower baskets
hanging street banners
We do not currently have any litter removal and groundskeeping programs. In general, we would like to see our City pick up some of the tab when it comes to design related cleaning, basic infrastructure, and maintenance.
Hope this helps,
--

Who pays for the garbage cans in your district when you need new ones? If you have landscape strips in your district is your organization responsible for planting, weeding, litter removal etc. Or do your respective cities pick up the tab for the maintenance of your district. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
