Just a reminder that registration for the Oregon Heritage Conference is open. We are encouraging our main street communities to attend the conference in lieu of our regular Spring Oregon Main Street training (the Network Meeting for Transforming Downtown and Performing Main Street communities will still take place on April 22 in advance of the conference). The full conference is $70. If you only plan on attending the preservation workshop on Wednesday ( required for our Transforming Downtown and Performing Main Street level communities and strongly suggested for our Exploring Downtown and Affiliate level communities), the fee is just $20. See additional info below as well as the link to the website to register. Some of the sessions that I think would be of interest are:

Wednesday, April 23
9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Preservation Workshop - Feasibility, Financing, and Second Floors

Thursday, April 24: Bad Board - How to Kick 10 Terrible Habits
Grant's Getaways: How to Find Adventure in Oregon's Heritage
Cycle Oregon Selection Process, being bike friendly
                                                Being Green with Preservation
Promoting Communities through the Scenic Bikeways Program

Friday, April 25: Business Success Through Embracing Heritage
                                                Main Street Affinity Lunch

The Oregon Heritage Conference will take place April 23-25 in historic downtown Albany with the theme of "Celebrate, Recreate, Invigorate." Registration is now open.

The abundance of opportunities for linking Oregon heritage and recreation will be the hub of workshops, speakers, tours, and panels. Whether you want to revitalize an organization, engage with tourists, document and preserve historic buildings and collections, advocate for support, or create new appreciation for Oregon heritage in its many forms, you will want to attend.

An engaging keynote talk, special tours, cutting-edge research expositions, and meeting colleagues from across the state are important benefits for attending. The Oregon Heritage Excellence Awards will take place on the evening of April 24.

The Oregon Heritage Conference will take place at several downtown locations, with registration at the Albany Regional Museum. The Albany Downtown Association, the Albany Visitors Association and the City of Albany are also assisting with the conference.

Additional conference and registration information is available at http://www.oregon.gov/oprd/HCD/OHC/Pages/conference.aspx
