Subject: [OMS_MANAGERS] Downtown Parking Survey
Hi:
I'm doing a survey regarding public parking in downtowns. I was hoping that you could take the time in answer a few questions.
1. Does your city have a time limit on on-street public parking in the downtown area? If so what is your time limits? Yes- we have a 2 hour limit both on street and in City lots.
1. Does your city have dedicate enforcement staff of these time limits? If not, how are the parking limits enforced? If so, do you know how enforcement is funded? Parking enforcement is not a priority for our police chief. The City Manager says enforcement is complaint driven, but realistically even complaints don't get much response.
1. Does your city own public parking lots within the downtown? If so:
* Does the public parking lots have a time limit? If so, what are the limits? Yes, 2 hours.
* Do you actively enforcement within the parking lot? No
* How is the maintenance of the parking lots funded? General fund public works budget
1. Does your city sell parking permits for Downtown? If so, what is the cost of the permit(s), and what does permit(s) allow? No, although they do issue temporary work permits for construction projects.
1. Does your community have its own enforcement or is by a third party provider? We have a city police dept
1. Does your city issue residential parking permits for the Downtown? If so, what is the cost of the permit? IF not, how is parking for the downtown residence organized? No residential parking permits. There is a privately owned lot that rents spaces by the month to residents and employees, since no resident or employee parking is allowed in our town center overlay zone. I believe the spots go for $60 a month. There is free bike parking available.
Thank you for taking the time to answer these question. You are helping me and Downtown Klamath Falls tremendously.
