Love seeing all the conversation about sidewalks, parking, etc., and hearing
about the projects you are all working on.
Ellensburg, WA has done a beautiful job with their sidewalk "bubbles" if
you're looking for inspiration for your downtown revitalization projects
beyond what we are already doing in Oregon. Their sidewalk metal planters
are quite nice too. I'm not sure if these links are working but if not you
can find them through the downtown association there. Ellensburg gets quite
hot in the summer and cold in the winter and is quite windy, so adding these
green areas has really perked up the place and pulled together the work they
have done on their downtown buildings. Artists also help create the
bronze-work around the decorative garbage cans.

Eastsound, WA on Orcas Island has also done a v. nice job w/ their bubbles
on 4 corners of one of their main streets (that has 4 stop signs) using
natural greenscapes -- greenery, grasses, flowers, some seating (driftwood,
rocks), rock/gravel paths, etc. I couldn't find photos online but have them
if you're curious. Look for the outside seating area at Teezers (great
cookies!) and the natural build-out they have done under their tree on that
corner, or the other three corners by Cherie Lindholm Real Estate, Enzo's
and Mijitas.
Can't wait to see what you all do next!
