Oktoberfest Preliminary Stein Hold Competition
We're starting the Oktoberfest celebrations a little early this year! Instead of grabbing contestants at Oktoberfest we have five breweries holding preliminaries leading up to Oktoberfest. The top two contestants from each brewery will then move on to the final, which is the Oktoberfest Stein Hold Competition. There will be ten contestants in the finale. If they win at the brewery, not only do they have the honor of moving on to the final, they will also win Oktoberfest swag to wear on September 21 & 22. Bend Brewing Co. is holding the first preliminary on August 23. 10 Barrel is holding theirs the day after, August 24. Silver Moon is on September 8. Sunriver is holding two at the Bend location and Sunriver location on September 11 & 12th.

The Source Oktoberfest Event Program

We are working with The Source to create an Event Program for Oktoberfest. We'll be passing out flyers to businesses next week. The program will be distributed through The Source a week before Oktoberfest, September 13th. This will be about 16,000 copies. This will also be sent out at the event for participants. If you want to put an ad in the booklet please email downtownbend at gmail.com.

The DBBA – July News

Things are busy this month at the Downtown Bend Business Association. We are refining Oktoberfest events and procedures.

We also started pressure washing in downtown every Wednesday. Hopefully you are noticing a difference!

We've started doing video projects now that we have Michaela Beechem on our team for Public Relations. She has done a video explaining what the DBBA is. You can check that out on our ** YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAi6pbu05js)
page. In August she will be highlighting businesses on Lava Road, Minnesota Avenue, and Brooks Street.
We have a Merchant Mixer coming up! It will be at the ** Liberty (http://atlibertyarts.com/)
Theater. It will be a chance to get to know your fellow business and building owners, and for us to build a stronger Downtown Bend community. We'll send out more information on this in the upcoming weeks.
