Hi All,
I'm sure by the title of this email you are thinking - "Nice! They are FINALLY redoing the website!!!" - and that's partly true, but not the main reason for this email.
At the last Network Meeting we talked with Performing and Transforming Downtown folks about things like file sharing, communication tools, etc., and one of things we heard was that it takes them forever to find the Oregon Main Street page on our website and they just end up googling Oregon Main Street anyway to get there. Shortly following that meeting it came to our attention that a domain finally became available to help ease this issue.
So (drum roll please........), you can all now reach the Oregon Main Street page directly by visit www.oregonmainstreet.org<http://www.oregonmainstreet.org>!
We realize this is a small thing but we want you to know that we are doing our best to find mechanisms that improve how we all communication and share information with each other. We here in the state office are, at times, limited by what we can and cannot do so just know we are always listening and working on solutions.
On that note, just to follow up on a few other technology related things that were brought up:
Website - this comes up a lot and we are in the process of migrating to a new website design which is more task oriented and mobile friendly. The entire agency is going through this process and according to the timeline, we are trying to go live on the new website in early 2020.
File Sharing - we are still exploring file sharing options like Dropbox and other systems to have a place where folks can access frequently used files and documents and explore resources. If you have suggestions of mechanisms to do so, please feel free to email Katie.henry at oregon.gov<mailto:Katie.henry at oregon.gov> with suggestions and we will continue to find a solution to this.
Thanks everyone for all that you do!
Best,
Katie & Sheri
